Yesterday evening, on the way home over London Bridge in Rush Hour, listening to James Bond themes on my iPod, I was overwhelmed by the urge to flip open my phone and record this for the VlogDeathmath.com Drunk Underwear Karaoke Challenge . It's not Anarchy in the UK , but it was fun to do anyway. Next week, you'll be able to cast your votes at Vlogdeathmatch.com .
The rules of the latest Deathmatch are to use any or all of the words Drunk Underwear Karaoke as a basis for your video.
I wasn't drunk or in my underwear (it was tempting) but yesterday was my last day of work before a month-long holiday in Canada, so I *was* totally lightheaded with joy. Or maybe it was that I'd lost my wallet and so hadn't eaten anything all day.
Turns out that the challenge was designed to have enough appeal to attract non-videobloggers to the Pioneer Two Boots movie theater in New York where these entries will be screened on 11 August . If I'd known it was going to be shown to an audience on a big screen when...

Today's entry covers Day 3 of Chad and Brett's trip, their first day in St. Paul. While the festival doesn't start until tuesday, the pair still managed to snag quite a few puppeteers for interviews as well as get plenty of B roll. Tory Vargas helped out with filming and editing the vlog.
I watched a brilliant vlog from rupert (honest, direct, rupert!) where he was really frustrated with his freelancing, i wanted my reply to be as equally as annoyed about the things that annoy you as a freelancer but i guess you have to be in that mood to really convey the angry you get with some clients. One thing that is apparant to me is that i really need to go see rupert, take some really excellent wine and chill the dude out. :)
Each week I'm going to give updates for the festival and bring you new settings in Greensboro and new friends and sponsors for the festival.

Since I became a freelance, I?ve spent the whole time feeling I should be working harder, and worrying that I?m not making enough money. Enough already.
Vanity note: My hair?s not greasy, I?d had a shower and it was raining.

I get such a kick out of Better Bad News. They've got a relatively large group of folks together to satirize anything they can get their minds around. In THIS episode, they pick on Web 2.0 economics and social networking.

I agree, at least in attitude and in principle.
In the larger picture, for the last six months or so BBN has been poking link-love vloggersational fun at A-listers across the web. Congdon . Calacanis . Gillmore Gang . Adam Curry . Scoble . Jarvis . YouTube's Renetto . They even did a mashup of one of Jay Dedman's moving pictures, comparing him to Hamlet and asking whether videoblogging is 'art' .
Their answer:
"If asked again I would say, yes, video blogging is art whenever it succeeds in reeling me in."
I've neither seen nor heard any media ripples from this link-love endeavor.

I was just answering Trine's thesis questions about what prompts me to post... and how audience-focussed I am.
for a long time i've wanted to post more simple snapshots of things i see and like.
but i've been afraid of putting up stuff that's too inconsequential... and boring you.
anyway, i was thinking all this just as i was passing the corner of our road, with the pillar (post) box lit up bright red in the sun... and i just pressed Record and stayed still.
A car came past with bass thumping so loud it set off another car's alarm, then a third car raced round the corner. and a man with crutches hobbled past.
Then i pressed stop. It was just 20 seconds of nothing... but it captured something about our neighbourhood. like a flickr snapshot... but moving.
the more i vlog from my phone, the more open i am to the world around me and the more moments i have like this.
And I've realised that i'm starting to go out looking for them. so, instead of things happening to me that prompt me to post, i'm actively start...

Guess it's disclosure time: I'm mashing up vloggers. In exchange for commercial use of vloggers' footage, videobloggers get a minimum of :05 text / logo ad in the mashup.
In the meta, I think of the project as a video magazine and vlogvertising.
This screen will eventually draw in sufficient funds to make it sustainable for publisher and film makers alike.
Most difficult is to explain 'vlogvertising' and what vlogvertising means to potential advertisers.
The 'vloggie' nature of the endeavor enables low production costs essential to affordably bring vlogvertising to small business owners. The following sentence may be the explanation.
