My school is having its first election for a class president. The candidates (I never found out exactly who they were) and their cadres were lined up in front of the school this morning to gain the other students' support. Quite cute.
So my buddy just took the MSF class, and is shopping around for a bike. I help him look at bikes. I've advised him that a Ninja 250 would be the perfect lightweight learner bike. This is the second bike we've seen, but it's the most interesting *cough* one so far. *cough*

I have heard recently that some folks wonder what it's like in a classroom of a cooking school. Really it's quite fun and exciting. I take you in the kitchen of my class from last week. An animation I made for my 10th grade math class extra credit assignment. The project was around Pi (3.14) Day but I have no clue how the two are related. The 3D animation was made in 3Ds Max and the sound was created in NHC MixPad 1.13. It took around 6 or 7 hours of work to complete so I hope you enjoy it!

In the early days of "sex ed", producers of feminine hygiene products were quick to produce educational films targeting girls that would prominently feature their products. In this one, a mom tells her young daughter all about the wonders of the Modess line of products, while trying to help her cope with the changes her body is undergoing. Later, her her teacher calls on her to help explain menstruation to the other girls in the class. All the boys that were excluded from these sessions may now finally discover what happened when the girls all went off to that "special class" together.
"Twin Voices" by Janice Flood Nichols, provides a unique and timely glimpse into polio, a virus that killed and maimed millions of children and adults during the twentieth century.
In 1953, polio struck DeWitt, NY (an eastern suburb of Syracuse) with a vengeance. In a first grade class of twenty-four students, eight children contracted the disease – one child, Frank Flood Jr., died sixty-one hours after admission to City Hospital; another first grader and her older sister died several years later of complications. Frankie’s twin sister, Janice, was admitted to the hospital on the evening of his burial. Diagnosed with paralytic polio, Janice recovered. She participated in the 1954 Salk vaccine trial, as one of nearly two million “Polio Pioneers.” Today, she remains dedicated to the goal of worldwide polio eradication. Twin Voices tells the story of polio, the disease, and the story of one family’s bout with the killer, in multiple “voices.”
