Some people think it’s more photographed than Acropolis. The place takes its name from the shipwreck (in Greek: navagio) that lies on the beach, half-buried in the sand. It’s 36,5 kilometres northwest of the town of Zakynthos. You can access the area only by sea, but you can also admire the scenery from the rocks above. Before the shipwreck that renamed the beach, it was called “Smuggler’s Cove”. Today, nobody uses the old name and many locals won’t even know what you are referring to. The shipwreck’s story sounds like a movie plot.
